Blue World is proud to be collaborating on the screening of Ocean at Bondi Pavilion. David Attenborough shows us the success and importance of marine protected areas across the world: Awe-inspiring footage shows the ocean’s resilience and its remarkable ability to recover when protected, in turn benefiting local communities and wildlife. Through firsthand stories of ocean recovery, the film shows what a revived ocean could look like in just fifty years, to a glory not witnessed for centuries, and the actions needed to achieve this.

The mellow and highly endangered grey nurse shark is loved by friendly ocean sports enthusiasts. Their peaceful presence brings tourist dollars nationally and internationally to our local businesses. We want them to thrive in our ocean playground, so let's lock in their habitat protection. The swimmers want their playing field! We need no -take marine sanctuaries, where these sharks are safe from hook damage.

Meet some oxygen producers in the ocean!
Two mobile ciliates frolicking amongst sparkling green microalgae. The smaller rectangular shaped cells are a type of brown microalgae called Diatoms that produce up to 50% of the oxygen in our atmosphere! The large green cells are called Desmids which are an ancient type of microalgae that gave rise to land plants more than 500 million years ago. Seen at 640x magnification. The biggest green microalgae cell is 100 microns in size. (0.01 cm)

The alarming boom of invasive mussels in Jervis bay marine part has been disturbing divers and boaters like underwater photographer Rod slice since late 2023 but either widespread community opposition and scientific concern hasn't stopped the expansion of Java Spain muscles Aqua business. Spark has begun a series investigating the complexities surrounding the big question should industry be allowed in this area an extremely important tourist destination and a precious ecosystem.
